Following

I stumbled upon the Following feature the other day when I was on my new and improved dashboard. I love this feature...it allows you to get some credit for the blogs you follow.

I found it was easy to load, and was thrilled to see that I could export my Google Reader subscriptions to it, and it worked as it should. I even pulled a few out that are not Blogger Blogs and they went right back into my Google Reader folder like they should and I was worried that I would have to retype those in.

Things that could be improved upon would be:

--to allow the owner of the blog to block any and all "followers" from showing up on their blog as links, if they wanted. They should not have to remove the widget to have this happen, but they should also not have to "block" the user from being a follower....they should be able to just not have their link on their blog if they want....

--highlight a number next to the blog name so that the newest items on the reader on the dashboard so you could see at a glance who has updated and not feel like you might be scrolling through tons of old posts.

For now, I am not using the reader on the dashboard, but am using the following linkage and widgets. I will continue to read my updates on Google Reader since the non blogger blogs show up better there anyhow....
